I was recently looking to get a tattoo in Las Vegas but realized many parlors require you to book an appointment in advance. So I did some research to find the best tattoo shops that take walk-ins.

These are the best tattoo parlors that take same-day walk-ins without an appointment…

Downtown Tattoo Las Vegas

Downtown Tattoo has been voted “best tattoo shop ever” for over ten years in a row. Now, that may be a little bit of an exaggeration, but it’s pretty clear that the tattoo artists here are extremely talented. They also have over 35 years of combined experience.

  • Location: Fremont Street (in Downtown Las Vegas)
  • Hours: 12pm-8pm (Sunday-Thursday), 12pm-10pm (Friday-Saturday)
  • Rating: 4.7/5 stars
  • Prices: $$

Downtown Tattoo is clean and professional, but the staff is also really helpful. The artists will work with you to help create the exact design that you’re looking for.

If you’re not exactly sure what you want, they have thousands of original designs on the walls to help give you some inspiration. You can check out some samples of their work on the Downtown Tattoo website. Each artist has samples of their work on there.

Walk-ins are welcome at Downtown Tattoo, but it’s first-come, first-serve. I recommend calling ahead to make sure that you won’t have to wait in line. Calling the day before or right before you head over will save you a ton of time.

Revolt Tattoos

Revolt Tattoos is owned by Joey Hamilton and Walter “Sausage” Frank. Joey won season 3 of the popular tattoo TV show InkMaster, and Walter was a finalist in the following season. There is no doubt that this tattoo shop has some serious credentials.

  • Location: On the Strip (Fashion Show Mall)
  • Hours: 11am-7pm (Sunday-Thursday), 11am-8pm (Friday-Saturday)
  • Rating: 4.8/5 stars
  • Prices: $$$

Besides the two guys in charge, there are plenty of other talented tattoo artists at the shop. Revolt Tattoos takes its reputation seriously and always tries to deliver the best product possible.

Many of the artists here are specialists, which allows them to take any design you give them and turn it into a unique piece of art. No job is too difficult.

Revolt Tattoos has two locations in Las Vegas, one in the Fashion Show Mall and one at the Meadows Mall. The Fashion Show Mall location (on the Strip) is the biggest, but it’s also the busiest.

They accept walk-ins on a first-come, first-serve basis. But because they have so much talent, I would highly recommend calling ahead. If you can’t get an appointment at the Fashion Show Mall location, I recommend going the Meadows Mall location. It’s much less busy, and only 10 minutes off the Strip.

Club Tattoo

Club Tattoo is the most popular tattoo parlor in Las Vegas. They have three locations, all on the Strip (Planet Hollywood, LINQ, and Venetian). If you’re looking to get a quality tattoo right now with minimal hassle, Club Tattoo is the way to go.

  • Location: On the Strip (Planet Hollywood, Venetian & LINQ)
  • Hours: 10am-10pm (Sunday-Thursday), 10am-12am (Friday-Saturday)
  • Rating: 4.9/5 stars
  • Prices: $$$

Just like the other shops already mentioned, Club Tattoo has some really skilled artists. They are more than capable of creating any design you bring in.

But the best part about Club Tattoo has to be the convenience. They have three locations directly on the Strip, so your chances of walking in without an appointment are much better. The customer service offered by their staff is top-notch as well.

Club Tattoo takes walk-ins every day, but if you want to book an appointment on their website you can show them your tattoo inspiration by uploading up to 5 images. This way the artists will know exactly what you want. They also do piercings.

Rockin’ Ink Tattoo Company

Rockin Ink Tatttoo is located just one block off the Strip at the Westgate Resort & Casino. Because the shop is not directly on the Strip it’s much less busy, which is perfect for walk-ins.

  • Location: 1 block off the Strip (Westgate)
  • Hours: 8:30am-1:30am
  • Rating: 4.5/5 stars
  • Prices: $$

Due to its hidden location, this tattoo parlor is very underrated. There are a couple of brilliant artists working here, and the shop is open almost 24 hours a day.

Their prices are extremely competitive as well. When comparing the tattoo shops on the Strip, Rockin Ink Tattoo probably offers the best bargain.

Rockin Ink Tattoo takes both walk-ins and appointments. You can check out some of their artists and samples of their work on the Rockin Ink Tattoo website.

Studio 21 Tattoo Gallery

Studio 21 Tattoo Gallery is the tattoo parlor of choice for many locals. This tattoo shop is family-owned and has plenty of nationally recognized artists on staff.

  • Location: 10 minutes off the Strip
  • Hours: 12pm-9pm
  • Rating: 4.9/5 stars
  • Prices: $$

Studio 21 is located about 10 minutes west of the Strip, but it’s worth the drive. This shop has won many awards over the years and has been featured in several magazines, including Inked.

All the artists have a wealth of experience and know how to make your tattoo come to life with extraordinary detail. The customer experience is also great since every tattoo artist has their own private room. You can check out samples of each artist’s work on their website.

Walk-ins are welcome at Studio 21, but it’s on a first-come, first-serve basis. I would recommend calling ahead of time to make sure they have availability.

Tips on Getting a Tattoo in Las Vegas

Getting a tattoo in Las Vegas is different than getting a tattoo in any other city. Here are a few things you’ll want to take into account when getting your tattoo:

Prices on the Strip are more expensive than off the Strip. It is difficult to estimate how much a tattoo is going to cost beforehand, and every shop charges a different rate. I wrote another article here to help you estimate how much your tattoo is going to cost in Las Vegas.

Get your tattoo at the end of your trip. You’re going to want to wait until the end of your trip to get your tattoo so that it has time to heal. Once you get the tattoo, you have to avoid pools and sunlight for a few weeks. You don’t want to do this at the beginning of your vacation.

Do not drink before getting a tattoo. One or two drinks is ok, but don’t be too intoxicated for your tattoo. Most shops will refuse to tattoo you if you drink too much.

Call ahead or book an appointment before you walk in. Most places take walk-ins, but it doesn’t hurt to call. Even calling a few hours ahead of time can ensure you actually get seen.

Go to a reputable tattoo parlor. Do not go to a cheap place with no (or bad) reviews. Tattoos are permanent, and you get what you pay for. Get your tattoo done correctly by a professional the first time.

You must be 18 years old to get a tattoo. However, in the state of Nevada, you can get a tattoo between the ages of 14-18 if you provide written parental consent and the parent is present.
