Ever wonder how much a lap dance costs in a Las Vegas strip club? How much admission costs? Or, how to get VIP treatment? I decided to spend an inordinate amount of time in these strip clubs, to get some answers. The result… THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO LAS VEGAS STRIP CLUBS.
In this post I’ll answer many of the frequently asked questions regarding cover charges, dress code, dance costs and VIP rooms. Plus some how to tips on saving money, getting the attention of the hottest girls and bringing your wife or girlfriend to the strip club. I’ll also include some sage advice and warnings I picked up along the way from the dancers themselves.
Cover Charges At Las Vegas Strip Clubs
I’ll start with cover charges, since it’s always the first step when attending a strip club. For many, it’s also the step that puts the biggest dent in your wallet. Depending on the club, you can expect to pay between $20-$50 a person for entry. This leads to my first, and probably most important tip…
Never take a cab or Uber to a Vegas strip club! Yes, that includes Lyft too.
Strip clubs pay cab and Uber drivers a commission when they bring customers to the club. The commission ranges from $40 to $100+. To make up for the payout they give to the driver, the club will charge you extra for admission.
|Strip Club||Average Cover Charge|
|Crazy Horse 3||$20-$50|
|Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club||$30-$40|
Some drivers (mostly cab divers) get aggressive when it comes to these kick backs. I’ve had taxi drivers “mistakenly” bring me to the strip club, when I actually wanted to go the restaurant next door. When I told them I wanted to go to the restaurant and not the strip club, they just put the car in park and refused to bring me.
Sometimes the drivers will even lock the doors and not let you out if you argue with them. These cab drivers will do anything to get you through the door, just to collect their checks. Many drivers also try to convince you to go to one of the shadier clubs, since they pay higher commissions.
This is a situation that will surely ruin your night, and therefore should be avoided at all costs. To accomplish this you have two choices: arrive by means of your own transportation (i.e. rental car). Or two, take advantage of the free transportation offer by the club.
Most Strip Clubs Offer Free Transportation
Most Vegas strip clubs offer to transport you on their own dime. They do this via limo, party bus or SUV depending on the club and your group size. The club prefers this method since it cuts out the taxi drivers completely. Getting picked up in a complimentary limo is also a great way to provide customer service!
Along with free transportation, many clubs also completely waive the cover charge. They bring you to the club and let you in, all at no cost. This service is 100% free when you call a specific number on their website. But, unfortunately I have found this to be inconsistent.
Sometimes it works, but other times the club will tell you that they will only offer free transportation. In this case, you are still required to pay a cover charge when you arrive. Occasionally, the club will say that they are too busy and aren’t offering the service that night.
The club is happy to bring you in for free if they aren’t busy, but if they are already packed, they no longer hand out freebies. But there is one package that almost all strip clubs offer, that is cheap and ensures free entry every time. When you agree to pre-purchase 2 drinks, the club will pick you up for free and waive your cover charge. This works every time, regardless of how busy the club is.
I like these packages because I’m likely to get 2 drinks at some point anyways. I might as well pay for the drinks up front and get my cover charged waived along with a free limo.
You can find these packages either online or through a promoter that works for the club. Either way, you don’t pay until you’re at the club. Most of these specials only cost about $40, which is nearly 50% cheaper than what you otherwise would be paying…
|Cost Without Limo Packages|
|Cover Charge||$35 (average)|
|Transportation (Taxi/ Uber)||$15|
|2 Drinks (Cocktails)||$30|
I always take advantage of these specials when I visit a strip club, and you should too. They are about the same price as the normal cover charge. And if you plan on getting drinks while at the club, you actually save money.
When you sign up for one of these specials, make sure you do it through a reputable source. There are a lot of fake strip club promoters that walk the Vegas strip. After you sign up for the package, you should only be paying the cashier inside of the club.
Locals Get Free Or Reduced Cover
This is a common question among Vegas locals who frequent strip clubs. Most clubs let locals in for free or at a reduced rate, as long as they arrive by their own transportation. If you’re a local and you arrive by cab or Uber, you’ll still be required to pay full cover.
When you go to the club, make sure you bring a valid Nevada driver license with you. Some clubs don’t accept other less official forms of identification, like a work ID. Of course, if you don’t have a Nevada ID yet, you can always take advantage of the strip club packages.
Lap Dance Prices At Vegas Strip Clubs
Now that you’ve managed to save a bucks on admission, it’s time make it rain with that extra cash. It’s important to note that each dancer acts as an independent contractor within the club, meaning they set their own prices. That being said, most dancers will follow some standard rates…
|Length of Dance||Price|
|1 Song (2-3 minutes)||$20|
|30 minutes (VIP room)||$250|
|60 minutes (VIP Room)||$500|
Your typical $20 lap dance lasts about 2-3 minutes, and is usually done in the main room of the club (except for Little Darlings; all dances are in private rooms since it’s an full nude club). The dancer will perform the lap dance right in your seat or if you’re standing, they will take you to an area where you can sit down. This is the most common type of dance.
Next you can get a 15 minute dance, which is either performed in a VIP room or in the main room, depending on the club. This is a good option if you want a dance longer than a few minutes, but don’t want to spend a couple hundred dollars.
Finally you have VIP room dances, which are typically offered in 30 or 60 minute increments. This is the best available option since you will get your own VIP room, which allows you to enjoy the experience with a degree of privacy. VIP rooms are extremely comfortable and are usually furnished with a couch or even a bed.
However you decide to get your dances, always make sure to get the full cost ahead of time. If not you may find out later that the amazing 30 minute private dance you received turned out to be $600! Before an entertainer starts dancing, make sure that she tells you how much the dance is going to cost. I cannot stress this point enough!
How To Get The Attention Of Dancers
Do the dancers approach me, or do I go to them? This was a question I had when I visited my first strip club. And for the the most part, the dancers will come to you. They will either start a conversation with you, or directly ask you if you’re interested in a dance.
For most people this is a positive, since the dancer is breaking the ice and doing most of the heavy lifting themselves. But what happens if the club is busy and dancers aren’t approaching you? Or what if a particular girl caught your interest on stage. Can you go up to her?
It is completely acceptable to approach a dancer yourself, as long as they are not with someone else already. I have approached dancers myself countless times, and it’s just as effective as waiting for them to come to you. But, be aware that they are not obligated to dance for you, or even talk to you. This rarely happens, but a dancer can refuse to give you a dance.
The ones that approach you will typically be the friendliest, since they decided to talk to you in the first place. Whether you wait for the dancers or approach them yourself, makes little difference. You’ll eventually find at least one you like.
However, if you want to feel like a real baller and have women swarming around you, then bottle service is going to be your best move. The dancers usually gravitate toward bottle service tables, since they are allowed to drink while at the club. Many of them will party with you, especially if they see you are spending some money.
Now this doesn’t have to be a lot of money. Bottle service is cheaper at strip clubs than it is at Vegas nightclubs. Tables cost a few hundred dollars instead of a few thousand dollars. If you have a group of 5 or 6 people, then each person only has to chip in $100.
In my opinion, the experience of bottle service is more than worth the price, especially for bachelor parties. Every club offers different packages depending on your group size. Many have bachelor party specials too.
In order to get the best pricing on bottle service, you’re going to want to speak with a VIP host that works for the club. If you’re interest in bottle service you can contact us here, and I’ll make sure you get connected with a VIP host at the club of your choice.
Sitting By Rail (Stage)
I’ll also mention that if you’re sitting directly in front of the stage, you can get a lot of attention by throwing up a few singles. Giving ten $1 dollar bills to the dancer on stage can be very effective. They will give you the most attention and dance directly in front of you.
Other dancers will also notice this and be more willing to give you attention while on stage. This is cheaper than getting a lap dance, but physical contact is limited since they are on stage.
Strip Club Etiquette: What’s Ok And What Isn’t
There’s a lot of confusion around what goes and what doesn’t. This is because Vegas strip clubs have different rules than the clubs in many of the other major cities. I’ll quickly cover some basic strip clubs rules, so you’ll know what to expect.
Touching is allowed during dances in all topless strip clubs but not in full nude clubs (Palomino is one of the few full nude clubs that allows touching). How much touching is allowed is dependent on what the girl is comfortable with.
As a general rule don’t put your hands underneath any clothing, and don’t expect them to touch you there either. Some dancers want you to touch their breasts, but I would advise against just going right in and helping yourself. Each dancer will guide you along and let you know what is acceptable. If they want to be touched somewhere, they will guide your hands.
Typically there is more contact in VIP rooms, since there is more privacy. The more time you spend with a dancer, the more comfortable they will be with you. But, remember that they are dancers not escorts, so keeping your expectations in check is a must.
If you aren’t getting a dance, keep the physical contact to a minimum. If you’re sitting many dancers will come and sit on your lap. But unless a dancer initiates physical contact don’t touch them. If you’re seen harassing dancers you’ll be kicked out in a hurry.
Don’t Be Rude
What I really mean when I say “don’t be rude” is don’t be too entitled. Understand that a dancer can say no to you if you’re being a jerk. While some dancers my actually like an abrasive guy, not all of them will. If that’s you’re personality be aware that you’re going to turn some people off.
Trying To Meet Up Outside The Club
Every guy tries to get a dancer to meet up outside the club. That’s simply not going to happen. For one, it’s illegal for them to leave with you. And two, they hear the same lines all day everyday. It’s easy to forget, but the dancers are actually working when they are at the club.
Las Vegas strip clubs actually have much more relaxed dress codes than, Vegas nightclubs. It’s a much more casually environment, so you aren’t required to dress up as much. There are just a few things that strip clubs won’t allow you to wear…
- Sweat pants
- Sports jerseys
- Tank tops
- Baggy jeans
- Sandals or flip flops
Pretty much everything else is acceptable to wear. I simply wear a t-shirt and jeans when I go the strip club. Jeans are ok to wear, as long as they aren’t ultra baggy, like the ones from the early 2000’s.
However, if you’re looking to stand out, dressing up will definitely help you. Wearing a nice suit or sports coat will get you preferential treatment, along with more attention from dancers. So if you have a nice suit, don’t hesitate to wear it.
Strip Clubs For Couples
Bringing your wife or girlfriend to the strip club can be a great time and extremely rewarding. But, only if she wants to go. Don’t drag her to the club if she has no desire to go, it won’t be fun for either one of you.
Assuming you, as a couple, have a mutual interest in visiting a Vegas strip club, the first step is picking the right club. I’ve brought girls to a couple of different clubs, and really haven’t had a bad experience at any of them. But, the 3 best in my opinion are Sapphire, Spearmint Rhino and Palomino.
If you’re attending the club on a weeknight (Sunday-Thursday), then I would recommend using the strip club package (2 drinks, no cover charges, free limo package) that I mentioned earlier. That will start off your night on the right foot, since you’ll be arriving at the club in a limo and entering through the VIP entrance with no hassle.
If you’re going out on a weekend after 10:00 pm, then I would recommend bottle service. This is because there may be a shortage of seating during peak hours, so you won’t be able to sit next to each other. It isn’t ideal to be standing next to the bar trying to stop dancers as they walk by.
Fortunately, bottle service is relatively cheap at strip clubs. Plus, many of them have bottle service packages for couples. These packages include a VIP table and 1 or 2 bottles of alcohol, and cost between $150-$300. It’s money well spent in my opinion, and will make the entire experience more enjoyable for all involved.
Waiting For Dancers
Once you’re seated you have two options: wait for a dancer to approach you, or go out and approach a dancer yourself. The dancers that approach you are likely to be very conversational and easy to get along with. These girls will lead the conversation and will give your wife or girlfriend a lot of attention, making her feel comfortable.
Eventually, this leads to the dancer asking if you would like a dance. At this point you can decide if you like the girl enough to pay for a dance. If you do opt for a dance, you can either get a dance separately or as a couple. Most dancers will charge the same rate for individual dances as they do for couples dances, since you’re really just paying for their time. But, some girls will try to charge extra.
Finding A Dancer
If the club is busy, or you’re not being approached by any dancers, then you’re going to need to find one yourself. I find it best to go to the bar alone and quickly chat up a few dancers. When I find one I like, I’ll bring her back to the girl I’m with, and buy a dance for her. Ask for your wife or girlfriend’s input ahead of time, so you know what girls you mutually like.
Most dancers love to see other girls at the club. And a surprising amount of women actually enjoy visiting the strip club. If your wife or girlfriend expresses an interest in visiting the strip club, by all means bring her. It’s not uncommon to see couples at there at all. Plus, it’s Vegas! Enjoy yourself.
Strip Club Pro Tips
There’s a lot to do at Vegas strip clubs, apart from getting lap dances. Some clubs have really good restaurants in them, some have cigar lounges, one has an after hours nightclub and others are big for sporting events. These are some of the pro tips I picked up while visiting these club. I think you’ll find a few handy…
- Always bring cash. ATM fees are often 20% or more inside strip clubs.
- Don’t hesitate to buy food at the club. Most clubs have a 24 hour kitchen and the food is actually really good!
- Some of the smaller clubs, like Deju Vu Showgirls and Cheetahs, have $2 drink specials on Tuesdays.
- The biggest clubs (Sapphire, Spearmint Rhino and Crazy Horse 3) have the most and widest selection of girls.
- A lot of clubs have happy hour specials before 8:00 pm. Cover charges are also lower during the day.
- Palomino is the only Vegas strip club that is both fully nude and also serves alcohol.
- If a girl asks you if you want a dance, you always have the option to say no. Don’t be pressured into a dance you don’t want!
- Little Darlings is an 18+ strip club. If one of your friends hasn’t turned 21 yet, then Little Darlings should be your number one choice.
What are the best Las Vegas strip clubs? Sapphire, Spearmint Rhino and Crazy Horse 3 are the biggest, and in my opinion, the best Vegas strip clubs. All three clubs are located close to the Vegas strip and have tip notch service. You can learn more about Vegas’ best strip clubs here.
What are the best strip club packages? The most popular strip club packages are the limo packages. When you pre-order 2 drinks you get a free limo to the club and a waived cover charge. Most clubs offer this package and you can sign up for it online.
When is the best time to visit a Vegas strip club? Strip clubs are the most busy on the weekends from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am. This is arguable the best time to go, since the most dancers will be there within this time frame. However, if you’re looking to avoid crowds it’s best to hit the club before 10:00 pm.
